Recently I haven't posted anything, how slack.
My attention has been turned on the development and creation of a laptop stand and phone stand.
The technique isn't new however as I have been using both 123d and 123d make to test out designs by creating cardboard prototypes. I create the 3d model and export it to 123d make where the software then slices the design so I can print templates, trace those onto cardboard and then hand cut the whole thing. Yeh it takes forever...
Once I receive my first last cut variant I will post a process post with some photos of the prototypes as I learnt how to properly use 3d software.
I can say the phone stand will be an affordable, flat packed stand that is ideal for travelling and be constructed of wood, maybe even bamboo plywood if it is cost effective. The design is aimed at something you would find in a giftware's shop. I will soon be heading overseas and will hopefully take a few products with me that have etched designs of which correspond to the market I will be selling them in.
So excuse the minimal posts, but stay tuned for some product reviews, tutorials and awesome ideas!
